US--- BUENA PARK--- JOHNNY ROCKETS@ KNOTTS

I usually eat at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant before i leave Knotts, but since that place was packed and both my friend and i were starving, we decided to give Johnny Rocket a try.

The wait wasn't nearly as bad, we only waited for 20 mins to get seated. The food however, took  forever. We ended up getting fries ($3)  to kill time... the Bananna float was pretty good though ($4)

I got the ORIGINAL burger... nothing special about it.

Personally i think i'd choose IN-N-OUT over Johnny Rocket.. the food was a lil too pricey and it wasn't even good.

US--- PASADENA--- AKA BISTRO

First time at AKA BISTRO. Friend yelped this place and we decided to come here for our mini birthday celebration.

Since i did not know what was good.. i went for the safe entree, Angus burger. The burger was huge, definitely worth the $13. I changed my side to salad instead of fried shallots..

My friend got the Roasted Mary's Chicken Salad. it looked really really weird at first, looks like a chunk of rice. It tastes.. uhhh... okay i guess..  ($14)

US--- IRVINE -- 17 CAFE RAMEN

3:10PM

My first time at 17 Cafe. I had their popcorn chicken ( the best popcorn chicken ever, it was hugeee and juicy ), and their chicken dish 雞排飯.

The owner of this place was extremely creative, they serve the dish in the wooded bucket, with the chicken &rice placed inside the paper to-go bowl. When i asked for the to go box, the girl simply took out the paper to-go bowl inside the wooded bucket, and put a lid on top of it.

I'd say the best part of this place is their one dollar all you can drink black tea :) Another happi day ;)

US---LAGUNA BEACH--- WATERMARC

Eventhough i've been here two times already, i was still pretty excited when i heard we are going to Watermarc for dinner. We went during their happy hour (4-6pm), and ordered a couple 2 dollar off grazing plates and the half price burgers.

Grazing Plate Herb Crusted Lamb Chop ($15)  This was my favorite.... :)

Grazing Plate Fried Goat Cheese ($9 regular hours, $7 happy hour)
I'm not a big fan of goat cheese.. i only had a bite of this and left the rest on the plate...

Smoked bacon wrapped dates ($7 regular hours, $5 happy hour)
it was okay i guess.. very "bacony" lol.

finally.. my Surf and Turf burger ($12+5 regular, $8.5 happy hour) with Lump crab cake on top, grilled half pound blend of angus chuck/sirloin/ short rib... and asparagus of course...

Duck Burger ($12+4 regular hours, $8 happy hour)
not bad, alot of meat and crispy buns....

We had a hard time deciding what to have for desserts.. but we finally settled for the strawberries& shortcakes. I have to admit i wasn't too excited for this desert since i never really liked shortcakes, but this came out alot better than expected.. a must try fosho <3!

US--- NEWPORT BEACH--- CHEESECAKE FACTORY

In my opinion, cheesecake factory food are always a success and never a failure. I don't think i've ever ordered something that turned out horrible here.

My friend was in a steak mood so he got the Hibachi Steak.. The steak turned out well-done when he asked for medium rare... the server was really nice and got a new steak for him after he realized what happened...

The onion ring and fries were part of the Smoke House BBQ Burger... it was my favorite..

I had the Louisiana Chicken pasta that day, and it came out better than expected. The chicken was extremely crispy and juicy.. yum yumm <3

US--- IRVINE --- CHILI'S

6:14pm
I was home watching Bones on a random day and they kept playing the "Chilis, 20 dollar dinner for two!" commercial.. the food looked really amazing on the TV so i decided to come and give it a try :)

The 20 dollar dinner menu came with one appetizer, and two dinner entrees.

The mexican eggrolls weren't included in the 20 dollar dinner for two menu, but i ordered it anyways. For some reason the entree came out smaller than expected.. i remember it being bigger than this.. or probably the kitchen was just really packed that day...

The fried cheesesticks, however, was on the 20 dollar dinner menu :)

I got the Chicken Fajitas.. my first time trying this sort and food and it was actually pretty good because i love beans. My friend didn't like it though, he complained they put too much beans in that dish..
I guess nothing could go wrong with the half rack of baby back ribs.. we finished this dish rather quickly....
another happi day :)

US--- COSTA MESA--- CALIFORNIA SHABU SHABU

2:15PM
This place is pretty cool, they have some video games and a resting area on the left side of the room for guests. My first impression of this place was pretty good, until our food came.

The most shocking thing to me is that the broth is CLEAR, it's just pure water. Seriously if i wanted to eat something like that i could've just cook this thing at home! Anyhow, we got the choice beef for 14 bucks, and our order took forever. I'd only give this place one star or .5 star if possible.

US---TUSTIN---RA SUSHI

Today was a random girls chit chat day with my middle school best friend. Since it happened to be the Orange county restaurant week, we decided to go somewhere on the restaurant weeek menu.

We went to RA SUSHI for their $10 lunch set. The first course- Miso soup was okay, but i didn' bother to take a picture of it...

Second Course California- Roll Combo was pretty small with lots of rice, but i guess i couldn't complain since the whole set is only $10!

Third Course Viva Las Vegas Roll was actually pretty good, and big too.

"kani kama crab & cream cheese rolled in rice & seaweed, lightly tempura battered & topped
with spicy tuna, kani kama crab mix & sliced lotus root; finished with a sweet eel sauce & spinach tempura bits"

Third Course Bara Chirashi Bowl was supppperrr big. I share this with my girl friend we still had some left to pack home...
"tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, avocado & cucumber with Asian green vegetables, mixed with poki sauce; served over rice"

We ended our dinner with the traditional japanese green tea ice cream dessert. I guess we both didn't want the chocolate gelato.. haha...
